What Does it Mean to be “America’s Greenest Junk Removal Service”?

What’s in a Name

Go Junk Free America is passionate about customer service and minimizing our environmental impact. We are “America’s greenest junk removal service,” after all. But what does that really mean? How are we practicing our mission to reuse, reduce and recycle, at every operational turn?

Putting “Junk” Back in the Community Greenest Junk Removal | Go Junk Free America

But wait, our job is to remove your junk, right? As the saying goes, one person’s junk is another person’s treasure. We sift through all the junk we pick up to find the high-quality goods that someone else could possibly use. We find and donate everything from clothing to furniture to sporting goods. We then donate those goods to local charities that help schools, police departments and at-risk youth organizations. One thing we absolutely do not put back into the community is used electronics. As certified e-waste collectors, we can determine if the electronics are salvageable. If so, they can be donated. If not, we properly dispose of the hazardous materials to make sure they do not end up in landfills or contaminate our community.

New is Over-Rated

Greenest Junk Removal | Go Junk Free AmericaWhen our friendly junk removal experts meet you on-site, you’ll notice their distinctive attire. Our uniforms and hats are made from recycled polyester. The fabric is actually made from post-consumer recyclables, namely plastic bottles and food containers (known as PET). Not only does recycled polyester take PET out of the landfills, but creating this synthetic fabric takes less energy to produce than “virgin” fibers. And take it from us, recycled polyester is lightweight and smooth with wicking properties, so it’s comfortable in the year-round California sun.

After we meet up to discuss your junk and you notice our snazzy uniforms, we’ll probably hand you a business card and pull out our clipboards to get to work. These are made from recycled materials, as well. Our clipboards are built from recycled paper products and our business cards are printed on recycled paper using soy ink. Most ink is petroleum-based, so plant-based ink is immediately more environmentally friendly to use. Soy ink is also a bit kinder to the materials it prints on, specifically recycled paper, making it easier to remove the ink later on when the paper will be recycled again. Many soy-ink users also believe they use less soy-ink than traditional ink to cover the same job.

Driving the Green Movement

It’s no surprise that we need big, powerful vehicles to move junk. We saw this as an excellent opportunity to continue our green thinking. Our trucks are about 35% bigger than other trucks in our industry, which means we can load more, make fewer trips and put less trucks on the road. New diesel-electric hybrid trucks like the Hino 195h make for even more environmentally conscious vehicles by optimizing how the engine and motor work together and reducing emissions. The bright green paint on our trucks contains low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), as well. This further reduces air pollution by minimizing toxic emissions (soy ink is low in VOC, too).

It’s not just our job to remove junk for your home or office, it’s also our responsibility to eliminate as much “junk” from the environment as possible. Our conscious efforts reduce our footprint while we help you reduce clutter and get organized.
